Further Activities
Since her success at the first recital in her hometown, Kamakura City, at 20 years old, Wada has been actively performing, rooted in the area, which led her to engage in local events such as appearing in some programs on Television Kanagawa and FM radio stations, and to perform with the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by OKISAWA Nodoka. Not only has she earned reputation through her self-produced performances “Koten-teki recital (Recital in solo exhibition style)” and “Classic eno iriguchi series (A doorway to classical music series),” but also Wada has been performing energetically with other instrument and vocal artists and chorus groups. She is working on both performance and education, focusing on operating and supervising “Ongaku gino kentei (Music skills certification, Japan) and teaching Solfège. Since April 2024, she has been a part time teacher at the piano course of Tokyo University of the Arts.
Repertoire
As to concertos, her repertoire includes works by Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Beethoven. Her future plan is to work on other pieces by Ravel, Grieg, and Rachmaninoff. For solo or chamber music, Wada challenges a wide range of repertoire regardless of eras or nationalities; however, she studies works by Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev at the graduate school, which has attracted her with their composition method and their music full of melancholy. Regarding French modern music, she held a recital performing complete 13 pieces of Fauré’s 13 Barcarolles.
