Accessibility Services—For Everyone to Enjoy Performance

2024 Nov.29 (Fri)

At the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, we will provide some accessibility services on a trial basis at the following performances with the cooperation of the organizers. Please give them a try on this occasion.

Accessibility services that we provide on this trial program

⁃ RETISSA ON HAND
(an assistive device for visual impairments using laser direct retinal projection
It is a hand-held visual aiding device that images captured from an integrated camera are projected directly to the retina.

⁃ Accessible audio guide
Visual information is described acoustically through a specific device.

⁃ Printed materials in Japanese Braille
Printed materials such as program leaflets and synopses of performances are available in Japanese Braille texts.

⁃ Hearing Loop
A “hearing loop” (also called a “magnetic induction loop” or “magnetic loop”) transmits sound picked up by a microphone directly to the hearing aid or cochlear implant, allowing the user to hear voices and music clearly.
The sound sent from the loop can be heard through the T (telecoil) setting of the hearing aid or cochlear implant or through a dedicated receiver.

⁃ Japanese sign language interpretation
We can assist communication using Japanese sign and oral languages.

⁃ Written communication in Japanese
Our staff members can assist for those in need.

* Please note that the accessibility services vary from performances.
Also, for RETISSA ON HAND and hearing loop, each user has a different result depending on the individual’s condition.
