Please be informed that the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan will introduce an assistive device for visual impairments using laser direct retinal projection “RETISSA ON HAND” on a trial basis in the Music Library on the 4th floor from August 27, 2024.

The device is available for browsing materials in the Music Library. Please ask the staff members at the Music Library reception desk.
* There is a limit to the number of devices available. Please note that we lend them on a first-come, first-served basis for a maximum of two hours per person.

What is RETISSA ON HAND?
RETISSA ON HAND is a hand-held visual aiding device featuring laser direct retinal projection. Once you switch it on and peer into the device, images from an integrated camera are projected to the retina with a 60-degree horizontal field of view. With a built-in battery, the device can be used wherever there is something you want to see. Equal to 7-time magnification allows you to view objects from near to far. In addition, there are image adjustments, such as brightness control, grayscale, black-and-white inversion, and pausing.

Please make sure to check this instruction video (YouTube *English subtitles available) in advance if you wish to use this device.
* Each user has a different retinal projection result depending on the individual condition.
