Further Activities

As a religious music soloist, Shimizu has performed in Johannes-Passion as Evangelist, Beethoven's 9th, Messiah, Die Schöpfung (The Creation) etc. in tenor solos. Performed in church, hall and outdoor stage concerts and events as well. He also does TV and radio CM recordings, school song recordings, backing vocals for Enka musicians, and national anthem solos at all types of sporting events. He is a member of the Japan Federation of Musicians, the Vocal Ensemble Kyoto, the Kamigata Opera Studio, and a soloist member of the BIWAKO HALL Vocal Music Ensemble.

Repertoire

I perform religious music, chamber music, pieces for small vocal ensemble and chorus as well as acapella pieces from the Baroque to the contemporary. I also sing Japanese and contemporary pieces. As for opera my strengths are lirico-leggero tenor roles across Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini etc.
