Began learning piano from 6 years old and has won various competitions including the Japan Piano Teachers Association Audition. From 13 to 15 years studied pipe organ under Hirai Yasuko. Fujiwara performs on the cello in solos, chamber ensemble, and professional orchestras. He performs at studio recordings as well.
Repertoire
Compositions from Baroque to contemporary, including unaccompanied pieces, virtuosos, small pieces, sonatas, and concertos. In particular I am good at Dvořák, Elgar and Shostakovich's works as well as film scores and popular music. In cello ensembles I am familiar with 2 to 4 cellos. I am also working on a variety of chamber ensemble.
