2017 Bronze Prize, Professional Category, the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia
2019 Won Geidai Klavier Prize and performed with the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra, Tokyo while studying at Tokyo University of the Arts.
2020 Aoyama Music Foundation Scholarship Recipient
2021 Won Acanthus Music Prize, Geidai Klavier Prize, and Doseikai Prize when graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts.
2022 Finalist, Piano Section, the 20th Tokyo Music Competition

Further Activities

Sumino has performed with the Chiba Symphony Orchestra, the Chiba Prefecture Youth Orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, as well as having performed in concerts held at major concert venues including the Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Orchard Hall at Bunkamura in Tokyo. She has been performing various genres of music in a wide range of styles from solo recitals to ensembles.

Repertoire

Sumino is studying works in a wide range of genres with the most focus on French music, and she is particularly attached to Ravel, Debussy, and Chopin. Her repertoire covers music performed in various forms, as she has been actively working on ensemble music in addition to solo works.
Sumino’s concerto repertoire includes the following.
