Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Performing Arts Creation Project/International Co-production Opera "Only the Sound Remains"
Kaija SAARIAHO's opera "Only the Sound Remains" (2016) was written, inspired by Noh dramas: "Tsunemasa" (First Part) and "Hagoromo" (Second Part). This newly directed version makes its Japan debut as an international co-production which includes La Biennale di Venezia.

Kaija SAARIAHO’s “Only the Sound Remains” is her fourth opera based on Noh dramas. SAARIAHO, one of the leading composers today, made its world premiere in 2016 with great success in many western countries.
