Synopsis

Romeo, the only son of the Montagues, attends a masked ball hosted by the Capulets, the enemies. There, he falls in love with Juliet, the daughter of the Capulets. The two secretly get married; however, the happiness is short-lived. Romeo is banished from the town by stabbing Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt, to death. Meanwhile, Juliet’s family arranges a marriage for her that she does not want. Juliet seeks advice from Friar Laurence, who suggests a risky plan for her to run away with Romeo. Juliet takes a potion to appear dead and is placed in the family’s burial vault. Romeo, unaware of the plan, finds Juliet seemingly lifeless and takes poison. Shortly after, Juliet wakes up, discovers Romeo dead, and ultimately takes her own life to follow after him.
