Les Volques String Trio
The string trio Les Volques was formed when three musicians met during the first edition of Festival les Volques in 2020. They share a passion for contemporary music as well as for playing historical instruments.
Robin MICHAEL (Cello) and Carole ROTH-DAUPHIN (Viola), principals of Les Siècles, have been speaking the same musical language for a long time. Aude PÉRIN-DUREAU (Violin), the concertmaster of the Orchestre National de Montpellier, joined them to form several concerts as a trio and quartet with the great pianist Cédric TIBERGHIEN. Their musical harmony was immediate from their first meeting.
They enjoy approaching contemporary music and maintain close relationships with composers such as Philippe MANOURY, Helmut LACHENMANN, Betsy JOLAS, and many others. They also offer historically informed interpretations of works by Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, Beethoven, and more.
