Beware of Spoofed E-mails claiming to be the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan

2022 Mar.02 (Wed)

Since March 1, 2022, we have confirmed that a spoofed e-mail (with an attached file and a password to decrypt) has been sent, claiming to be the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.
We, the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, are completely irrelevant to these e-mails. Please make sure to delete the unknown or suspicious e-mails without opening them if sent to you. We sincerely apologize for any concern this may cause to those who received these e-mails.

The following are common suspicious points in the spoofed e-mails we have currently confirmed.
1. The e-mail address is different from that of the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (Some of the display names are altered to “Tokyo Bunka Kaikan” in Japanese Kanji character: “東京文化会館” or “東京文化会館 XXX (personal name).”
2. The e-mail contains a zip file and a password to decrypt.

The Tokyo Bunka Kaikan’s official e-mails are only from the domain “@t-bunka.jp” and “@e-get.jp” (for e-mail newsletters and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Box Office). Therefore, please delete e-mails without replying or opening the attachments if sent from a domain other than ours.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
